Welcome to the horsesmouth online resources site. This site has been created for members of the media interested in horsesmouth and for our stakeholders and partners. It includes details of how you can partner with us, news articles, images, media releases and factsheets.

A bit about us

horsesmouth is the first online social network with a social purpose. Designed for informal e-mentoring on a wide range of topics within the three broad categories of life, work and learning, horsesmouth is open and free to everyone aged 16 or over.

If you feel that your company or organisation could benefit from enabling your staff, members, supply chain or customers to offer each other peer-to-peer mentoring, support or advice on a safe social networking platform, horsesmouth is made for you.

We are currently building partner relationships and sponsorship packages around the different content areas of the site and so far, reaction has been extremely positive. There are a range of ways in which partners can use horsesmouth to improve your engagement with your staff, customers, members and other stakeholders:

• Encouraging your stakeholders to use the site to access peer-to-peer mentoring and advice.
• Encouraging your staff and stakeholders to sign up as mentors as part of your approach to volunteering and corporate responsibility.
• Working with us to develop a ‘Caps’ system whereby your staff, members or stakeholders are all badged on the site and so your users can have their own walled garden and engage only with each other if they want to.
• Brand the landing page of the site so that horsesmouth is more of an extension to your own online presence.
• Create a bespoke site for you, entirely branded according to your specification in which your stakeholders can engage just with each other – but using our tried and tested IT platform and moderation.

Whilst the site is currently operating in beta many mentors have been signing up and are using the site. There is still much to do with the site and listening and learning from partners and members is an important part of the ongoing development.

What is clear is that horsesmouth can provide a solution to many organisations and individuals: people will always need access to advice, knowledge and wisdom.
