Calling all small businesses

The Yell Small Business Mentor of the Year Award asks small business owners and managers from across the UK to nominate their mentor. We want to highlight the inspirational mentors who may be formal mentors, supportive colleagues, peers, family, or helpful strangers – like on horsesmouth! The winning mentor will receive £1,000 plus an exclusive mentoring breakfast with a business hero of their choice from a list of high profile business personalities. We will be announcing these over the next month – so keep an eye on this blog, and let us know if there is anyone you would particularly like to see on the list. Dame Mary Perkins, founder of Specsavers has come on board for the launch and is offering to fly the winning mentor to Guernsey for the day to see her headquarters and have a mentoring session, as well as taking some time to soak up some of the local sights. This award is open to both horsesmouth mentors and non horsesmouth mentors – so please get nominating, and don’t forget to tell your friends and family. We’ve also developed two special bonus awards; the Editor’s Choice prize, for which the site editor will choose the best piece of business related content published on the site and the ‘M-Factor’ prize for the mentor with the highest M factor. So please do remember to rate your mentor and publish useful stories to share with others – we’re looking forward to hearing from you.
